Standard Bank Group is one of the big four full service South African banks. The group operates in a range of banking and related financial services. The group has a wide representation which spans 18 African countries and 20 countries outside of Africa with an emerging market focus. Standard Bank has 694 branches in South Africa and 323 in the rest of Africa.
Their brief was for us to build them a database of leads who were potential customers of the bank. The criteria was very specific and was to be used to market a whole array of banking products.
In order to be considered a potential customer for Standard Bank in this campaign, the criteria of lead was:
- The lead had to have a transactional account with a competitor
- The lead had to be over a certain age
- The lead had to fall within a certain income bracket
Once the lead fitted the criteria, the following information was gathered:
- ID no, gender, age, contact details, province
- Name of bank where credit card is held
- Name of bank where home loan is held
- Name of bank where vehicle finance is held
- Happiness with current bank
This high level marketing database was then used for direct sales and marketing by the bank. All our databases are fully compliant with all current and pending legislation around opt-in, data privacy and protection of information.
